The Padres will host the Indians in Peoria today as Josh Johnson takes the mound against Bryan Shaw. Johnson made a strong first impression in his Padres debut on Tuesday, tossing two scoreless frames while holding the Giants hitless. As Corey Brock reports, JJ looks to pitch three innings or throw around 45 pitches against Cleveland.
Nick Vincent and Dale Thayer are also slated to get some mound time today. Vincent has had a rough Spring so far. He was tagged for three earned runs his last time out and has allowed seven runs total (five earned) on eight hits in his two Spring outings, pitching a combined 1 1/3 innings. Thayer, on the other hand, has pitched two scoreless innings over two games this Spring, holding opponents to just one hit while collecting three total strikeouts.
