The Padres are coming off their third tie and second extra-inning game of the Spring as they head back to Salt River Fields at Talking Stick today. Andrew Cashner will make third cactus league start and hopes to continue his successful Spring as he and the Friars take on the Rockies. So far Cashner has pitched five scoreless innings, giving up three hits and striking out five.
Corey Brock and Jesse Agler tell us that Yasmani Grandal will be getting his first appearance of the Spring this afternoon, though Rivera will be the starting catcher for Cashner. Brock adds that Tommy Medica will see some time in the outfield at some point today as well.
Colorado is coming off a 10-1 victory over the Royals and today they'll send Franklin Morales to the hill. The southpaw is also looking to build on an already strong start to his Spring campaign, in which he's allowed just one unearned run while racking up six strikeouts in five innings of work.
