The Dodgers had nearly a best-case scenario week, going 5-1 while the rest of the National League West went 7-18.

Team recaps
Dodgers (5-1): Were it not for Kenley Jansen's blown save on Friday night in San Diego, Los Angeles might have had a perfect week. Instead, they settled for a sweep of Colorado and a series win at Petco Park.
Padres (3-4): San Diego split its four-game home-and-home interleague tilt with the Mariners - aptly named The Vedder Cup - before dropping a home series against the Dodgers. Oh yeah, and San Diego fired general manager Josh Byrnes on Sunday.
Giants (2-3): San Francisco dropped a pair of interleague games in Chicago and saw their losing streak reach six games before recovering with two weekend wins in Phoenix to take the series at Chase Field.
Diamondbacks (2-5): Arizona was at home all week but dropped series to the Brewers and Giants. The Diamondbacks are 14-29 at home this year, the worst home mark in baseball. They lost on Tuesday on a grand slam by Jonathan Lucroy after an intentional hit by pitch of Ryan Braun. But at least Arizona "won tough guy points," per Kyle Lohse.
Rockies (0-6): Colorado saw the business end of some great pitching in Los Angeles, including a no-hitter by Clayton Kershaw, then got bludgeoned by Brewers bats at home. The Rockies were outscored 46-22 during the week.
Upcoming week
Dodgers: Los Angeles has three interleague games in Kansas City, followed by four home games against the Cardinals.
Diamondbacks: Arizona hosts Cleveland for two interleague games, sandwiched around off days Monday and Thursday, before a three-game weekend series in San Diego.
Giants: San Francisco opens a 10-game homestand with three games against the Padres and four against the Reds.
Padres: San Diego runs the Bob Brenly gauntlet, heading north for three games in San Francisco, followed by an off day Thursday then back home for three against the Diamondbacks.
Rockies: Colorado hosts the Cardinals for three before heading to Milwaukee for a four-game series at Miller Park.
Player of the week
Pitch a no-hitter, you get this award. Congratulations, Kershaw. Though honorable mention goes to Corey Dickerson, who reached on an error against Kershaw, and hit .500/.522/.955 for the week with two home runs, six RBI and five runs scored for Colorado.
Best individual performance
Kershaw on Wednesday pitched the best game to date of his brilliant career with 15 strikeouts in a no-hitter to beat Colorado.
Team of the week
The Dodgers were the only NL West team even at .500, so with five wins in six games this was an easy choice.
Worst individual performance
Matt Cain got bombed for two home runs and eight runs in five innings in a Giants loss on Tuesday to the White Sox. Cain beats out Rockies infielder Josh Rutledge, who was 2-for-18 (.111) with a double in six games.
