According to Fox Sports' Ken Rosenthal, the Padres already have a list of candidates for the open General Manager position that they would like to interview.

The internal candidates are uninteresting and hopefully are only a formality. The external candidates are a very interesting list. Only one (Beinfest) is a former GM. The rest are a who's who of rising stars in baseball front offices.
