As previously reported Padres fans may get to watch up to 13 games before the regular season starts. Fox Sports San Diego will broadcast 10 of them. It's so exciting for those of us that have FSSD but Time Warner Cable customers won't get to experience it quite yet. They'll have to skip the baseball foreplay this Spring. They aren't scheduled to get the Fox Sports San Diego Channel until March 30th.
FOX Sports San Diego announces 2014 Padres preseason TV schedule | FOX Sports on MSN
Hall of Fame broadcaster Dick Enberg and former Padres starting pitcher Mark Grant will return to the broadcast booth for approximately half of FSSD's preseason telecasts, with the remaining games called by Padres Live hosts, former Padres first baseman Mark Sweeney and FOX Sports San Diego's own Mike Pomeranz.
Once the regular season starts TWC customers will surely recognize longtime broadcaster Mark Grant and possibly Mark Sweeney from his playing days. Sweeney, however, they may not recognize in his current form though since he's now completely hairless except for his eyebrows, long luxurious eye lashes and flavor saver on his lower lip.
Dick Enberg they'll definitely know from his storied Hall of Fame broadcast career, but they've never heard him quite this elderly. They're in for a treat.
The only person they'll need to familiarize themselves with is FSSD golden boy Mark Pomeranz. All evidence points to the fact that he is being groomed by FSSD execs as the future of broadcasting in San Diego. If they could figure out a way to put him on the air 24/7 they'd do it. It's only a matter of time.
But enough about the talent, here's the official schedule:
