One day after playing to a 4-4 draw against the Indians, San Diego tied the Diamondbacks at twos. Eric Stults allowed five hits and both Arizona runs, and five relievers combined for six and two-thirds innings of one-hit baseball. On the offensive side, Seth Smith had a pair of hits, and Jedd Gyorko and Alex Dickerson each drove in a run.
Of the five pitchers who followed Stults, only Tim Stauffer allowed a hit. Donn Roach stayed in for two and two-thirds innings, then Alex Torres, Joaquin Benoit, Stauffer, and Dennis O`Grady each put in an inning of work apiece. Benoit was especially impressive, striking out the side.
Spring Training superstar Tommy Medica went 1-2 to lower his batting average to .520. He also walked and stole his second base of the preseason, just because he can do whatever he wants.
The Padres will be on the road again tomorrow. Their ten-inning tie against the Rockies will begin at 1:10 pm.

Friar Fever led all commenters with exactly half of them, eclipsing second-place Timmah's 18. CurbEnthusiasm and I split the only two recs of the thread.
