Ian Kennedy will make the start as the Padres host the Athletics in Peoria this afternoon. He's had a decent Spring so far, allowing two earned runs on four hits in five total innings of work while striking out four batters. Today he is slated for four innings of work, throwing around 60 pitches.
On the hill for the A's will be Sonny Gray, who will try to rebound from a rough start his last time out. In his first and only inning of work against the Dbacks last Thursday, Gray used 35 pitches to get three outs, surrendering four runs on five hits and issuing two walks along the way.
